What a year it's been!
We can't wait to share with you everything that is to come this year. Now that 2022 has come to an end, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support this past year. We couldn't have had such a successful year without you. We also want to take a moment to introduce you to our new GLYS WNY Board President, Michael Wah!
A long-time board member and we are so grateful to have him take on the role of Board President. When asked about why he wanted to join the GLYS board, Wah responds, "We always say youth are our future, but if we don’t take care of them in the here and now, we won’t have much of a future. Anything I can do to help Grow LGBTQ+ Youth Support is my motivation."
We are also joined by Amy Hequembourg, PhD, and Attorney Neil Pawlowski on the board this year. Bringing with them myriad resources and connections to back a successful year moving forward! Keep an eye out for announcements of some exciting new events to come in 2023!
Holidays were in full effect at GLYS!
On December 16th, we held our HoliGAY Extravaganza! Attended by about 25 youth, we enjoyed holiday movies, cookies, snacks, button making and lots of other winter themed crafts before our runway style Ugly Sweater contest! We were also able to take the opportunity to provide the youth access to their very own monkeypox vaccine clinic.
